Jobs and Woz were confident in their business, because when they sold their blue boxes, sales went extremely well and they were successful from the start. On August 28 1976, Jobs and Woz introduce the Apple 1 computer at the Personal Computing Festival in Atlantic City. From there, the business took off because investor Mike Markkula invested in the Apple 1 computer.
Then an Apple 2 prototype is built, and makes a big sensation at the West Coast Computer Fair. Apple sells hundreds of these, and Apple starts to become known around America as a personal computer company. December 12th, 1980 is when Apple went public, and Jobs net worth went from dozens of millions to over $200 millions. January 24th, 1984, the Macintosh was introduced. Jobs goes on to invent many more computers, such as the Apple III, the Lisa, and many more computers which aren't all successful. Jobs had ups and downs, and almost every computer he invented was a big hit. But computers was Apple's only product at the time, and Jobs wanted to move on to bigger things. |
